How to get to the Matrona?
Saint Matrona in life was a healer, clairvoyant. She gave hundreds of people health, spiritual peace, helped to find a life path. From birth, the girl was blind, and at 18 years old, her legs refused. Despite this, she always found the strength to do good, to help other people. In 1999 she was canonized as a locally revered saint of Moscow.
Where are the holy relics kept?
The guardian of the holy relics of Matrona is the Pokrovsky Convent of the Stavropegic Monastery. From all over Russia, people come to touch a piece of a righteous Christian, to ask her for health, well-being, protection and help for themselves and their family.
It is best to get to the monastery from the Proletarskaya, Taganskaya, and Marxist metro stations. Various public transport services run regularly from them:
- Art. m. "Marxist" (from it you can go to the metro station "Taganskaya"). In the underpass you need to go left and reach the end, go to the square and go to the bus stop.Routes to take to the Pokrovsky Monastery: 51, 74, 106 (buses); 63m, 316m, 463m, 567m (route taxis); 63, 16, 63k, 26 (trolley buses). Exit will need just a couple of stops on Bolshaya Andronievskaya street. About 50 meters away you will see a monastery.
- Art. m. "Proletarian" (from it you can go to the station. m. "Peasant Gate"). At 100 meters from the exit of the subway there is a public transport stop. To get to the monastery will allow one of these routes: 26 (trolley bus), 43 (tram). You will need to get out at the Abelmanovskaya outpost and after walking on foot to reach the Matrona temple (approximately 150 m). If you do not want to go, then on the station. m. "Proletarskaya" go to the station "Peasant's Gate", and from it on foot (about 800 m) walk to the Abelmanovskaya Gate.
