Weaving the original basket of pine needles with explanations and phased photos.
Environmental materials, with its diversity,so much available, that there is always an idea to create from them something useful and beautiful at the same time. You can make practical elements for home decorating from anything. Items created from eco-materials will always be relevant and will be able to decorate any interior. All without exception know about the various properties of pine. She feeds and clothes, and what to say about her medicinal properties. It uses everything: roots, cones, branches, needles, kidneys. It would seem that a person takes advantage of everything that could be. But no. In this article we will talk about the use of conifers in weaving all sorts of decor elements. And we will dwell in greater detail on such wonderful baskets.Maybe it's hard to imagine, butthey are made of needles of coniferous trees. This technique of weaving objects is quite ancient, because used it more than 9 thousand years ago. Since ancient times people have weaved vessels, combining coniferous needles and roots of various plants. Such weaving were so strong that they even carried water. Now the manufacture of various items from coniferous needles, like everything associated with eco-design, is again becoming fashionable. And to work on weaving such a basket you need to prepare dry and fresh needles, a strong thread, a needle and scissors. Instead of conifer needles, you can also prepare any other bent ecological material. Here everything will depend on your imagination. The main thing is to grasp the very essence of this technique of weaving. Let's start to make for work It is better to pick up longer needles. They can be found on cedar and pine trees. When the needles are collected, proceed to their preparation. if we talk about fresh needles, then special preparations are not needed. Such needles are quite elastic and come off without scales-"caps". You just need to place them in one direction. But with dry needles you need to work. Go through them, leaving only the whole. Then place the dry needles in a bowl of hot water for 10 minutes. This procedure will make it softer and more elastic. In addition to all, it is washed away from dust and dirt. To ensure that the needles do not lose their softness during the whole work, they can be soaked in separate portions. Next, you need to lay out the needles on a paper towel or something similar and separate the "cap" flakes so they do not spoil the final look of the product. To make this procedure more convenient will help the use of tweezers or forceps. Now start making the basket itself with itsfoundation. It will be in the center of the bottom. Select a bundle of needles up to 1 cm in diameter and fix it, tying it with a knot of threads. Wind the thread in a spiral. Having reached one third of the length of our bundle, bend it and turn the needles into a kind of "snail". It should be made quite tight. Then gradually add new needles. Ensure that the harness is always of the same diameter. Wind it also to the "snail". Complete one complete circle. Sew "snail", tightly wrapping the needles of the last circle as shown in the diagram. Do similar operations with the other circles. The general view of the bottom of the future basket will be completelydepend on the shape of the rope. It can acquire both round and oval shape. Making the basis of the basket for the first time, use dry needles, since fresh ones are more elastic and more forces will be required to fold the "snail". Continue to make similar circles. Fasten only the rows of needles made to the previous ones, winding them as it was with the first. To make the bottom look more aesthetically pleasing, you need to capture about a third of the already finished row with a needle.Take the thread as long as possible, but so that you canit is convenient to work. At its end, take a new thread and attach it to the tip of the remaining one. You need to make a couple of knots, cut off the ends and hide them among the needles. When the base of the basket is already large enough, you can correct the shape of the "snail" and cover it with more beautiful stitches.Choose the diameter of the base yourself. It will depend, of course, on how large a basket you want to make. After you have reached the desired size, go to work with the wall. It's all very simple. The next row of needles should be raised slightly upwards. Thus, the work will simultaneously take place in a circle and with each subsequent of them will gradually rise. After you have done 3-4 circles up,you can add fresh needles. While the needles do not dry out, its green color will give your product not only an elegance and a special originality, but also a pleasant aroma.Alternate dry needles with fresh ones, changing them through the same number of circles. To make the finished basket shaped like a bowl, you need to make each subsequent circle a little farther from the center. In this way the diameter will constantly increase. When you reach the desired height of the product, stop adding needles and close the ends of the needles with ordinary stitches. The thread must be taken inside the product, cut and hidden. Also you can easily modify a littleready basket, applying all sorts of decorative stitches. For its decor, you can use a variety of beads, nuts. In the end, the needles can be painted in any color.
